Anheuser-Busch does a pretty good job of hiding traces of their fingerprints from this one. I saw a six-pack in my supermarket and had only a vague recollection of the name. A fruit beer at 8%? Award winning? Seems interesting. Baldwinsville, NY should have tipped me off, or perhaps the poseur-ish "dawg" brewery name.
Not that I prejudged it because of the brewery. In fact, this actually turned out to be not quite as bad as I'd heard (though it's still pretty bad). It's heavy on the blueberry, although I wonder if they could pass it off as grape. The sweetness is at the level of an alcopop. It's a bit syrupy. The back end has a trace of hops that doesn't jibe with the rest of it. Rating by style -- and defining the style simply as beer -- it would score terribly, but it actually makes for a passable, high school grade spiked punch. That's really not what I was looking for, but I do have some acquaintances who probably wouldn't mind taking the rest of the sixer.

Excellent review and quite funny! I concur completely on your description of this beer as being perfect for a spiked punch. It also can be used in cooking (I poured some in a pork shoulder marinade) or for making a salad dressing.
I was attracted by the label, as I often am when shopping for wines or beers, which I think looks like something Berkeley Breathed might have drawn. being a berry lover (blue-, dew-, black-, rasp- or straw) I thought I'd give it a try but, like you found it far too soda-popish sweet and syrupy.
Uh...that last (and your first) comment was not from Anonymous - it was from me...
I found the Ben & Jerry's recipe for beer sorbet and intend to try it with Wild Blue. Marinade and salad dressing also sound like good ideas too. As long as you don't think of it as it's beer, it's probably not quite completely useless.
Good, but more poppish. I hate Alamogordo. Fun to drink but not great beer taste. Too sweet. I expected a beer with a blueberry undertone like a Belgian ale. The equivelant of boone's for beer. Jonny F. Wright

i like it. and at 8% it will kick your butt. yes its different for A.B.but not all beers can be the same. or who would buy them.
